SÂO BENTO HOUSES

The undertaking involves the conversion and refurbishment of an 18th-century manor house, complemented by a modest extension in harmony with the original structure. This results in the creation of six distinct apartments. To preserve the historical charm, we carefully retained some of the original features of the building, ensuring a seamless blend of heritage and contemporary living.

Each apartment, featuring expansive vaulted ceilings, exudes its own unique character, preserving the authenticity of original tiles and providing access to inviting terraces and patios.

Although our initial scope for this project was to carry out contract administration and site supervision for a design originally by Arqto. Carlos Pietra Torres, the complexities inherent in refurbishment projects often demand on-the-spot decisions. As a result, our role expanded to closely collaborate on design with the original architect. This adaptive approach ensures a comprehensive integration of expertise, leading to the careful restoration and transformation of this historic manor.
