Oldfield Road is a conversion and roof extension project for a two-storey end-of-terrace house in Stoke Newington.

Previously part of an existing estate, this house was originally converted from a stable building and some farm out-houses. Although it now sits at the end of a terrace, it possesses a unique character.

Our approach to this project was to propose a slightly set-back modern volume on top of the existing structure. This design choice allowed us to nod to conservationists by not altering the 'half-butterfly' roof profile facing the main street while creating a distinctly modern extension and interior for the house.
