GEBALIS OFFICES
After securing the commission to design Lisbon City Council's Housing Department office, we faced the challenge of transforming three abandoned shops within a housing estate into a functional and secure office space.
Security was a top priority, requiring careful planning around multiple staff and visitor entrances. The design scheme embraces simplicity, with a thoughtful selection of colors and materials that define the identity of the space. Deep yellow tones highlight the bathrooms and private areas, while the workspaces and interview rooms are finished with natural cork flooring and a neutral palette of greys and whites. Every piece of furniture was carefully curated or custom-designed for the project.
A key objective from the outset was to create a near net-zero energy office. To achieve this, we prioritized energy efficiency throughout the design, incorporating a low-consumption HVAC system and a rooftop array of photovoltaic panels, ensuring the office runs sustainably.
